A BIT ABOUT ME

How to characterize my relationship with design? To me, design is a creative outlet, way of seeing the world, and a method of problem solving all in one. Working in design is a way to create something that is useful and impactful with my artistic talents.

This feeling was one of the things that lead me to the realization of my personal philosophy on design, which I titled Problem Solving to Enhance the Human Experience. To briefly summarize, I see design as creation for the betterment of others. It is the process by which my ability and passion to create is utilized to build something that will impact a wider world.

I truly believe that design is something created for others and with this as a guiding principle I have found that I create better work in collaboration with other designers. Being able to work in a studio space with other designers, even if only to bounce ideas off each other or receive in-process feedback, is both continuously inspiring but also leads to stronger work. Being exposed to other perspectives and getting away from your own biases leads to the creation of work that is reaches a wider audience. By creating more resolved work that is relatable to a larger group of people enables me as a designer to make the impact on the world that I am looking to make.
